Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev appointed Yerlan Turgumbayev as new Interior Minister of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh president's office announced.
Turgumbayev replaced Kalmuhanbet Kassymov, who was appointed aide to the President - Secretary of the Security Council.
Yerlan Turgumbayev was born in 1962. He graduated from Kirov Kazakh National University in 1984 and from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2003. He was appointed deputy Interior Minister of Kazakhstan in 2012, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
