Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev awarded visiting Tajik President Emomali Rahmon the order of Parasat, a state award presented to outstanding people who made a great personal contribution to the development of the spiritual and intellectual potential of Kazakhstan.
Rahmon's visit to Astana started with the narrow-format meeting with Nazarbayev.
"Considering your achievements in friendship between our countries, I signed a decree to award you the Order of Parasat as a sign of your wisdom and love for Kazakhstan," Nazarbayev said.
He added that the countries have never had unsolved problems and expressed readiness to discuss any questions during Rahmon's stay in Astana.
Rahmon, for his part, thanked for the award which is a "surprise" for him. "I think this is not only my achievements, but also the achievements of my people for 25 years that we increasingly develop our bilateral cooperation," AKIpress cited the Tajik President as saying.
