Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the approved list of candidates to the Majilis (lower chamber) of the parliament from the Nur Otan party meets all the requirements and criteria, being balanced in terms of regional, social, professional representation.
The list of deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the 6th convocation includes the former Speaker Kabibulla Dzhakupov, the head of the Atyrau Region, Baktykozha Izmukhambetov, TV host Artur Platonov, Olympic champion Olga Shishigina and others, RIA Novosti reports.
Kazakh President's daughter, the deputy prime minister, Dariga Nazarbayeva, will not become a member of parliament despite running on the list of the Nur Otan party.
