Nazarbayev has no doubts about EEU's usefulness

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Tigran Sargsyan, that the benefits from the establishment and activities of the Eurasian Economic Union don't cause any doubts today.

Nazarbayev and Sargsyan discussed "the issues of the EEU functioning, deepening of economic relations with the third countries, as well as a common strategy of member states in global markets," the press service of the President of Kazakhstan said.

According to the President, Tigran Sargsyan's chairmanship of the EEC Board has coincided with great global economic hardships and "it is not easy to find new ways for growth in these conditions".

"However, those hardships are not related to the work of the Eurasian Economic Union," Nazarbayev said. "I have no doubts about the usefulness of our integration union," he said, adding that today "many countries expressed the desire to join the union or create a free trade zone with it".

"The crisis is a temporary phenomenon and the overall capacity of our economies and market volumes remain unchanged," TASS cited the president of Kazakhstan as saying.
Sargsyan noted that the Kazakh president's position on the common strategy of the development  of the association "is of fundamental importance."
