Nazarbayev offers to tighten responsibility for nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty withdrawal

First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed to resume the practice of holding summits on nuclear security every two years and toughen measures for withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

"I think that the international responsibility measures should be tightened up for exit from the treaty by strengthening by necessary resolutions. A special attention should be paid to a speedy commencement of the agreement on abolition of nuclear weapons," Nazarbayev said at the Astana Club forum in Nur-Sultan.

The former President also reminded that Kazakhstan is ready to provide a platform for summits on nuclear security, AKIpress reported.
