Improving Israeli-Russian relations is a factor of Israel’s national security that has already spared Israel from confrontations at its northern borders, the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
“Russia is a global power and our relations are getting closer. I worked on this rapprochement and today it is serving us, our national security, preventing unneeded and dangerous clashes at our northern border,” Sputnik cited him as saying.
Netanyahu's visit to Russia dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. He plans to discuss with the Russian leadership implementation of the earlier achieved agreements, global fight against terrorism, bilateral economic and trade relations, the situation in Syria and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
