New Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan was elected during the 8th Kurultai of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Kazakhstan in Almaty.
Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Kazakhstan Yerzhan kazhi Malgazyuly nominated Serikbay kazy Oraz for the post. His candidacy was unanimously supported by 300 delegates.
Serikbay Kazhi Oraz was born in 1975 and has been working in the religious sphere for more than 20 years, AKIpress reported.
From October 2013, Serikbay Oraz served as the main imam of the Khazret Sultan mosque.
