Renaud Seligmann has been appointed World Bank Country Director for Russia, effective October 15, 2019.
In this position, "Seligmann will lead the dialogue with the government, development partners and other key stakeholders", "with a focus on customized solutions and policy advice," the World Bank statement reads.
Renaud Seligmann, a French national, joined the Bank in 2007 as a Senior Financial Management Specialist in the Africa Region and held various positions. Most recently, Seligmann served as Practice Manager in the Governance Global Practice in the Middle East and North Africa Region. He has also overseen the Digital Governance Community of Practice.
Seligmann will be based in Moscow from January 2020. He takes over from Andras Horvai, who served as the World Bank’s Country Director and Resident Representative for Russia from 2015.
