Great conditions for competitors were organised at the XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku, French tennis player Ocean Babel said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku.
"I think it's a great experience for us. All the competition venues are excellent, the Olympic Village is very good. Everything is great. I really like being here," she shared her impressions.
Babel expressed her appreciation for the the level of tennis competitions as part of the EYOF Baku. "Good European tennis players came here," the athlete explained.
"It's my first time in Baku. This is a very good city. Two days ago I had a look at the National Gymnastics Arena, watched competitions held there," the tennis player said.
According to her, the third-round match with Belarusian tennis players Evelina Laskevich was the most difficult for her in Baku. "It is a very tough match because she made very few mistakes. It was hard for me. Also it was very hot there," Babel noted.
The French also said that she has been a tennis player for 10 years, and her favorite tennis star is Serena Williams.
"I hope next year I will take part in the Junior Grand Slam tournament, and then I will make a good showing at other competitions," she shared her plans for the near future.
The XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Baku on July 21-27. The festival will be attended by more than 3,900 athletes from 48 European countries. Athletes will compete in ten kinds of sports - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. In total, athletes will compete for 135 sets of medals.
