Peskov: there is deficit of trust in relations with West

The West is trying to influence internal processes in Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Answering a question on whether Peskov thinks that the West interferes into Russia’s affairs, the Kremlin spokesman said: "I would not generalize." "There are very many cases that serve as evidence of that," he added noting that every case should be considered separately.

Peskov said that "this is an absolutely reciprocal process."

"Different political analysts, public organizations in Russia also often accuse the West of interfering into processes in Russia, of trying to influence electoral processes, of threatening our national security. And the West also fails at persuading us that it is not like that," TASS cited the Kremlin spokesman as saying.

According to him, "the reason for this is catastrophic deficit of trust and reluctance to engage in constructive dialogue. We hope that political will to change this situation will emerge sooner or later".

He stressed that Russia "is ready to continue explaining to everyone interested our actions, our concerns, our plans and proposals to avoid similar situations in the future." "We have a lot of patience," he concluded.
