Russian singer Philipp Kirkorov, who arrived in Baku to participate in the opening of the 'ZHARA' international music festival, told the journalists that he is very happy to once again be in the capital of Azerbaijan.
"I’m sure that 'ZHARA' will become a grand international festival like Woodstock. In a few years, it will be the best and most hospitable, because Azerbaijan is so hospitable that you wait to meet with the audience here without surprise, admiration, you just wait. There is an atmosphere of love and friendship here, it surprises me," the singer said.
"I associate Baku with joy, sun, friendship, song, Magomayev and heat, in all respects. It is very important for me before a big concert, which I hope will be in Baku soon, to boost my energy level creatively and emotionally to present new show 'The Color of Mood' in the autumn, which was again prepared with Franco Dragone. Earlier we already prepared the show 'I' at the Crystal Hall. The dress rehearsal of the new concert will be held here, at 'ZHARA'," Kirkorov said, stressing that this year he would continue the tradition and prepared a speech in Azerbaijani like at last year’s festival.
The singer also said that at the opening he will do a duet with Azerbaijani people's actress Aygun Kyazimova and singer Zivert. "Perhaps I will also do a duet with Baskov, if the people ask for it," he said.
In addition, Kirkorov said that as part of his trip to Baku, where he came this time with his son Martin and his daughter Alla-Victoria, he plans to show the old city to his children. "I haven’t seen such beauty of the old city for a long time. I missed these places, these streets and alleys, where the idol of my childhood, Andrei Mironov, was filmed in the 'The Diamond Hand'. Before they came, my children watched this movie. Now we will visit this place. The festival is the reason why they are here. They will watch it, they have favorite performers," the singer concluded.
