United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had a phone conversation with Georgia’s President-elect Salome Zurabishvili to congratulate her on her election victory.
The sides discussed U.S.-Georgian cooperation on common global security priorities, Washington's unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity as well as the importance of electoral and judicial reforms for Georgia’s democratic development and Western integration, according to the U.S. State Department.
The inauguration ceremony of Zurabishvili will take place on December 16 in Georgia’s Kakheti.
