The price of futures for Brent crude oil for delivery next January at the ICE London Stock Exchange has fall by 2% to $39.99 per barrel and fallen below the level of $40 per barrel for the first time since February 2009.

The price for Brent decreased by more than 5% and overcame the annual minimum after OPEC's decision to retain quotas for oil production at the same level, Tass reports.
