Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulations to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of National Unity Day and the 12th anniversary of the signing of the General Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and National Accord in Tajikistan.
The President noted that the signing of this document was a landmark event in the history of Tajikistan, which put an end to the long-term civil war, and also contributed to the achievement of national unity and opened the way to the peaceful, prosperous development of Tajikistan.
Putin expressed confidence that the bilateral strategic partnership, based on the good traditions of friendship and mutual assistance, will continue its fruitful development for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Tajikistan.
