Putin declares 2017 as Year of Ecology in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to declare 2017 as the Year of Ecology in Russia, the Kremlin press service said.

For this purpose the organizing committee, headed by the head of the presidential administration Sergei Ivanov, will be formed. The government was ordered to develop and approve a plan of actions for the Year of Ecology.

The decree comes into force from the date of its signing, RIA Novosti reports.
