Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the governors who resigned recently, the Kremlin press service said.
The meeting was held in the Kremlin on Thursday evening.
Putin expressed hope that the former governors will provide assistance to their successors. "I hope their work be as successful as in your case, and people will feel that in the immediate future," TASS cited him as saying.
The former head of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn, the former head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen, the former Governor of the Perm territory Viktor Basargin, the former head of the Novgorod region Sergey Mitin and the former Governor of the Ryazan region Oleg Kovalyov took part in the meeting.
