Russian President Vladimir Putin said that is is necessary to preserve a united Russian nation given the fragility of civil peace.
According to the President, it is necessary to remember both happy and tragic pages of Russian history, learn to perceive it entirely, objectively, without suppressing. "It is the only way to fully understand the lessons of our past," he said.
"We know how fragile civil peace is, we know it now, we should never forget about it, we must not forget how long it takes for the wounds to heal, and that is why our common duty is to do everything we can to preserve the unity of the Russian nation," Sputnik cited the President as saying.
The president noted that it was necessary "through sustained dialogue to support public and political consensus, and, relying on our traditional values, on the values of our traditional religions, not to allow any bitterness and split."
