Qatar will acquire four US‑made KC‑46A tanker aircraft under a $4.5 billion deal approved by the US State Department.
The agreement includes aircraft, eight PW4062 engines, radar warning receivers, laser transmitters, and other equipment under the Foreign Military Sales programme.
The deal will boost Qatar's strategic role in regional security without altering the fundamental military balance in the region, the State Department said.
