About one million people have gathered in Grozny to show their support for the head of the Chechen republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, Grozny TV reports. The official name of the event is 'Our power is in unity'.
Protesters are holding placards with such slogans as 'We support Putin', 'We support Kadyrov', 'Fifth column cannot pass', Interfax reports.
According to the Federal State Statistics Service, as of January 1st 2015, the Chechen population is about 1.37 million people.
