Ramazan Abdulatipov celebrates 70th birthday

Today the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, is celebrating his 70th birthday. The team of Vestnik Kavkaza congratulates Ramazan Gadzhimuradovich on his birthday and wishes him good health, longevity and success in his work as the head of Dagestan.

The Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, noted that Ramazan Abdulatipov "is as an energetic, responsible and principled leader with an active civic stance".

"I am sure that your work will continue to be dedicated to the service of the Fatherland. I wish you strong health, implementation of your plans and happiness to your family and friends," Valentina Matvienko said in a congratulatory message.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulated the head of Dagestan and stressed that Ramazan Abdulatipov's life is "a clear evidence of selfless service to the Fatherland."

"Many years of fruitful work in the legislative and executive bodies, including as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, have earned you the well-deserved respect in our country and abroad. It is hard to overestimate your contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of the Republic of Dagestan, as well as strengthening of interethnic peace and accord," the Russian Foreign Minister said in the congratulatory message.

"We highly value a constructive cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the leadership of Dagestan, we are ready to intensify joint efforts to improve international and foreign economic relations of the region in line with the foreign policy of the Russian Federation," the head of Russian diplomacy noted.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also sent his congratulations to Ramazan Abdulatipov. He noted a personal contribution of the head of the republic to "preservation, development and enhancement of the centuries-old traditions of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual support between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Dagestan."

"I am confident that the comprehensive development and strengthening of these relations will continue to promote the Azerbaijani-Russian multifaceted cooperation. I wish you, dear Ramadan Gadzhimuradovich, good health, happiness and success in your state work," Ilham Aliyev said.

The President also awarded the Dagestani leader with one of the highest state awards of Azerbaijan - the Order of Friendship (Dostluq). Ramazan Abdulatipov received the order "for outstanding accomplishments in the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as between peoples of Azerbaijan and Dagestan".

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wished the head of Dagestan "good health, well-being, inexhaustible creative energy and new achievements in his work."

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said in his congratulatory message that Ramazan Abdulatipov is known as an effective, purposeful and responsible leader, enjoying a well-deserved respect and authority.

The Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Minister of Emergency Situations, Vladimir Puchkov, the Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, the Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov, the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Nationalities, Gadzhimet Safaraliev, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Valery Zorkin, the Chairman of the Supreme Court Vyacheslav Lebedev, the head of the Federal Antimonopoly service Igor Artemyev, the Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko and many others sent congratulatory telegrams to the head of Dagestan.

Ramazan Abdulatipov was born on August 4, 1946, in the Tlyaratinsky District of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

In 1990–1993 he was the Chairman of the Council of Nationalities, a chamber of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian SFSR. From May 2005 to 6 March 2009, Abdulatipov served as Ambassador of Russia to Tajikistan.
