Fleet Commander of Turkish Naval Forces Veysel Kösele resigned, Turkish Presidential Spokesperson and Deputy Secretary General İbrahim Kalın said during a press conference in Ankara.
Kalin also noted that the Turkish General Staff will make statements if necessary.
Kosele have been held hostage by participants in the failed coup attempt in July 2016.
