Russian students entering Azerbaijani universities is in the interest of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo CIS office Sergei Malenko said at the round table titled 'Strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian sphere' of the 8th Russian-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum in Stavropol.
First of all, he reminded that today the quota for the education of Azerbaijani citizens in Russian universities exceeds 220 people. "And Rossotrudnichestvo is interested in Russian students entering Azerbaijani universities," the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports.
"There is an agreement on recognition of diplomas between Russia and Azerbaijan, and special attention to the study of Russian language in Azerbaijan makes it possible to study from textbooks in Russian," Sergei Malenko said.
Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo CIS office thanked the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his attention to Russian language. "We suggest Azerbaijan to participate in the development of a cooperation program for the 2020-2030s," he said.
Russia's Stavropol is hosting the eighth Russian-Azerbaijani inter-regional forum under the motto "Investments, innovations and tourism". Co-organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy, the forum will feature round tables on a number of issues, including on cooperation in industrial and humanitarian spheres, development of tourism, and innovations in the field of healthcare.
Messages from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will be read out at the plenary session of the forum. Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus Federal District Oleg Belaventsev, Governor of Stavropol Vladimir Vladimirov, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin will also address the session.
