The head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Vladimir Puchkov, and the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, Faig Tagizade, discussed the prospects of cooperation, in particular the possibility of creating a joint training center for firefighters of the Caspian basin countries.
The Russian minister said that the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has prepared an appropriate project in response to the request of the Azerbaijani side to study the issue of the continuation of the joint program, providing the establishment of a joint regional training center for specialists of fire and rescue units of the Caspian basin countries.
He also confirmed readiness to send a working group of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies to Baku in May to conduct joint consultations on the preparation and implementation of the program.
In addition, Puchkov confirmed plans to hold large-scale exercises of the Caspian flotilla in Astrakhan and invited Azerbaijani colleagues to participate in them.
