Russia has reduced tariffs on the import of seafood from Iran by 16%, the head of Iran’s Fisheries Organization, Hassan Salehi, said.
Salehi said the reduction from 19 to 3% in tariffs on the export of seafood to Russia follows negotiations with officials from that country. At present, 19 Iranian companies are licensed to export seafood to Russia, but there are plans to increase that number, he added.
According to the official, Iran has begun cooperation with Norway, France and China in the fishery industry after coming into force of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. Apart from those three countries, there have been business talks with the US, Canada, Britain and Thailand, Tasnim reports.
