Russia ready for swine flu

All the hospitals in the regions of Russia are fully prepared to counter a swine flu outbreak, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said.

"They have a full supply of the necessary antiviral drugs. They have a full supply of disinfectants in hospitals and clinics. All the necessary supply of equipment," TASS cited her as saying.

According to Popova, hospitals have all the necessary and required equipment for artificial pulmonary ventilation and determination of the amount of oxygen in the blood.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor also recalled that the most serious thing about swine flu is its complication – pneumonia. Therefore, she said, care must be taken to prevent the infection. "The main rule is to keep hands, face, nose and everything we hold in our hands clean," she said.

In addition, it is undesirable to visit places with large concentrations of people, but if you have to do it, then you need to wear a flu mask.

After you first notice symptoms of influenza, such as temperature and headache, you should see your doctor, Popova stressed.
