The ceasefire regime, which began its operation in Syria on February 27th on the initiative of Russia and the United States as the co-chairs of the International Syrian Support Group, is generally being observed, the Russian Defense Ministry’s official spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, said.
In these conditions, the issues of civilians' safe return to their homes and humanitarian aid delivery come to the forefront.
"Russia has already delivered over 620 tonnes of humanitarian aid, medications and essentials to the Syrian provinces of Hama, Homs, Latakia, Daraa, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo and to Damascus," he said.
Estimates of the Russian Center of reconciliation on the humanitarian situation in the various provinces of Syria will be taken into account," TASS cited the representative of the Ministry of Defense as saying.
"Therefore, the Ministry of Defense is ready to provide all the necessary assistance to the international and foreign organizations in the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Syrian Arab Republic," Konashenkov stressed.
