The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the US should not harbor illusions that their sanctions will be left unanswered.
"Washington’s actions devalue its own signals about being interested in cooperation with us on several pressing international problems," the foreign ministry said. "Futile attempts to exert sanctions pressure on us, it seems, have not taught Washington's strategists anything," TASS cited the ministry as saying.
The foreign ministry stressed that reciprocal measures from Russia will definitely follow, and they will not necessarily be mirrored. "The US's actions arouse growing concern even among US allies, because they can result in serious costs to international stability," the ministry stressed.
