The State Duma deputy, head of the Russian-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group, Dmitry Savelyev, congratulated the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan's Independence Day.
In the telegram to the head of state, he noted that Azerbaijan successfully follows the route of development.
The head of the Russian-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group also drew attention to the fact that "Azerbaijan is strengthening its position at the international arena, pursuing a truly independent policy, which is based primarily on the interests of its citizens, on their good will."
The MP expressed confidence that in the future friendly relations between the two states will dynamically develop for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan and "contribute to strengthening stability in the entire Caucasus region."
