Trade turnover between Russia and Georgia in the first quarter of this year increased by 37.3% in comparison with the same period last year, exceeding $255 million, according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia 'Geostat'.
Russia ranks second in the list of key trade partners of Georgia after Turkey. The turnover with Russia in the first quarter occupied 11.2% of the total foreign trade turnover of Georgia, Sputnik-Georgia reports.
Exports from Georgia to Russia in the first three months of 2017 in comparison with the same period of 2016 increased by 133.2% to about $90 million.
Imports from Russia to Georgia increased by 12.2%, now it is more than $165.3 million, or 9.7% of Georgia's total imports.
