The Anglo-Dutch oil company Royal Dutch Shell has started to repay its debt to Iran of $2.3 billion for oil that had been delivered in 2011 and 2012, the official representative of the Ministry of Petroleum of Iran, Asqar Hendi, said.
"Following the arrangements made prior to the withdrawal of sanctions, some reputable oil companies had announced their readiness to reimburse their unsettled payments immediately after the sanctions were lifted. The European debtors started their payments following the opening of bank accounts," TASS cited him as saying.
