According to the Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation for the Krasnodar Territory, downpours led to a critical rise of the water level in the rivers around Sochi, and therefore they can overspill its banks in the coming days.
First and foremost, flood threatens the roads leading to Sochi, although as long as there is no flood, the houses are not flooded, Interfax reports.
It continues to rain in Sochi, water is being pumped from the lowlands on Azovskaya and Nesserbskaya streets and on the road section in Vesely. In general, the situation is controlled by rescuers of the Central Crisis Management.
