Athletes gain good experience at the World Championships organized by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Norwegian gymnast Ingrid Bratsberg’s coach Svetla Slavova said in an interview with the Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent on the sidelines of the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Baku.
“Thanks to the high level of organization and competition, this tournament will make Ingrid stronger. Athletes are gaining good experience, I am glad about that,” she said.
“We are pleased with everything - the location, the food, the conditions for training, and, of course, the wonderful arena. Everything is amazing in Baku,” Svetla Slavova emphasized.
Ingrid Bratsberg’s coach also told about her experience of working with Mariana Vasileva, head coach of the Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnastics team. "We have been working with Mariana in Bulgaria for several years, I know her very well. I am glad that she did so much for Azerbaijan, she does a great job here," she said.
This week, on September 16-22, the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships is held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku. The tournament is the qualification competition for the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the tournament is “Fairy tales will come to life”.
