About 10 thousand pilgrims from the North Caucasus region are going to perform the hajj to Mecca this year, the Chairman of the Muslims Coordination Center of North Caucasus and Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Ismail Byrd, reported today.
"The beginning of their pilgrimage is planned before September 15 of this year," Byrd said, Interfax-South reports.
Before the beginning of hajj all pilgrims have passed all the required number of procedures, including vaccinations, coaching, and the collection and registration of necessary documents for entry to Saudi Arabia.
