Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a tour of Mukhtar Auezov's house-museum, which is located in Cholpon-Ata, the Head of state's press service reports.
The President also took part in the unveiling of the writer's bust. He also left a note in the book of honored guests.
The house of the outstanding writer Mukhtar Auezov in Cholpon-Ata was built in 1959.
There he lived and worked in 1959-1961, and he began writing his last novel, The Young Tribe, but did not finish it. In 1970, the library-museum of Mukhtar Auezov was officially opened here.
