Turkey hasn't received discount on Iranian gas

Iran has not confirmed the information that it has provided the Turkish state pipeline company with a discount on gas.

“No offer has been made so far for reducing the gas price within the framework of the existing contract with Botas,” the international affairs director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Azizollah Ramezani, said.

According to him, the gas is sold to Botas at a reasonable and fair price and there is no need for revising the gas price.

Earlier, Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Ali Reza Bigdeli said that Turkey would purchase more natural gas from Iran. He added that a new agreement is needed for a certain reduction in gas prices
