Turkey lifts restrictions on imports of Russian wheat

Ankara lifted restrictions on imports of Russian wheat, the Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said.

He noted that this step has been agreed at the meeting of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At the same time, an embargo on tomato imports and curbs on entry visas for Turkish citizens will remain in place, RIA Novosti reported.

As of March 15, Turkey changed the rules of import on certain agricultural products for processing in the country, including wheat and sunflower oil. Russia was not included in the list of countries that have the right to export such supplies duty-free.
