Ankara intends to establish a security zone along its border with Syria, the country's National Defense Council said in a communique.
"[At the session], we have once again confirmed our plans to make all necessary efforts to establish a 'peace corridor' in the framework of ensuring the security of our borders," TASS cited the communique as saying.
The National Defense Council also noted that "Turkey's position on the Eastern Mediterranean is based on the intent to ensure peace and stability in the region, and to contribute to developing regional cooperation."
