Turkmenistan was elected as the vice-president of the United Nations General Assembly's 71st session, the Turkmen government reports.
"The election of Turkmenistan as the vice-president of the United Nations General Assembly's 71st session marks a new and important chapter in the history of relations between our country and the United Nations, which meet the interests of global peace and security, prosperity and sustainable development," Trend cited the statement as saying.
