The United States strongly supports the U.S.-Kazakh enhanced strategic partnership and looks forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with the new government of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, U.S Secretary of State Michael Pompeo wrote on Twitter yesterday following his meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov in Washington.
Pompeo welcomed recent statements by President Tokayev on increasing political participation in Kazakhstan and actions to strengthen the protection of fundamental freedoms for the people of Kazakhstan.
