A bill has been submitted to the US Senate. The document envisages increased US support to strengthen the security of the Black Sea region countries, including Georgia. The name of the bill is the Black Sea Security Act of 2023, Georgian media write.
The authors of the bill, Republican and Democratic congressmen, including Jeanne Shaheen, Mitt Romney, Ben Cardin, Dick Durbin and others, note that the Black Sea region's security is one of the components of the US national security, as well as European and global security, Trend reports.
The adoption of the bill means the intensification of US foreign policy in the Black Sea region, including in coordination with NATO and the EU, as well as the strengthening of economic ties between the Black Sea region countries and the United States. The Act also provides support for the initiatives of the region's countries.
