Ulyukayev: fall in oil prices affects us more than sanctions

The sanctions that the West imposed against Russia have less impact on its economy than the fall in world oil prices, Russian Economy Minister Alexei Ulyukayev told the French newspaper Echos.

According to him, the decline in oil prices "affects all parameters of savings, revenues, credits, and commercial activity". However, there is no "destabilizing effect" at the "national" level, he assured.

He also believes that Russia's economy "will return to the path of growth" in the next year if there is no major international crisis.
