After a meeting with Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh in Tehran the Minister of Petroleum of Venezuela, Eulogio Del Pino, said that six crude oil producing countries have agreed to convene a joint emergency meeting between OPEC and non-OPEC member states.
"Iran has agreed to take part in the meeting and Russia has already announced its agreement. Iran is the first OPEC country which I visited to hold talks," the Shana news agency cited him as saying. Del Pino noted that he had already visited Russia, which is not an OPEC member.
The minister noted that the purpose of the negotiations with producing countries is to restore stability to the world oil market.
He also welcomed the removal of sanctions against Iran and expressed hope that Venezuela and Iran will continue cooperation.
Eulogio Del Pino departs for Doha after his consultations in Tehran, RIA Novosti reports.
