The team of Vestnik Kavkaza is grieving and expresses condolences to injured and the relatives of the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice.

A terrorist attack was committed on Thursday night in Nice during Bastille Day celebrations. A truck rammed into the crowd at full speed. The driver was shot dead after barrelling the truck two kilometres through the festive crowd.

Authorities said they found identity papers belonging to a 31-year-old French-Tunisian citizen in the truck.

84 people were killed and dozens more were injured. At least 18 more people are currently in critical condition, according to AFP.

"The terrorist character of the attack cannot be denied," French President Francois Hollande said. He added that many children were among the dead.

Hollande said that the state of emergency will be maintained for three months. He also decided to call up the country’s operational reserves — "all those who have at one time served in the military or been active duty police — to help support those deployed as part of the operation". He stated in particular that reinforcements would focus on securing France’s borders.

French President said that that France plans to increase the intensity of strikes on Islamists in Iraq and Syria after Thursday's incident when the country once again came under an attack probably staged by Islamist terrorists. "We will continue to strike at those who threaten us," he stressed.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev expressed condolences to the injured and the relatives of the victims of the terrorist attack in Nice.

"I would like to join words of condolences to France, to all those affected as well as relatives of those killed in the heinous terrorist attack in Nice," Medvedev said.

"Terrorism is known to have no borders and be a common challenge both for Europe and Asia," TASS cited him as saying.

At least one Russian woman was killed and one more injured during the terrorist attack in Nice. "There are two insurance cases - one Russian was killed in a terrorist attack and the other, her friend, is wounded," the press secretary of the Russian Union of the Travel Industry, Irina Turina, said.
