Warlick: settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict would bring peace and prosperity to the region

A peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict would bring peace and prosperity to the region, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair from the United States, James Warlick, said.

He spoke about the preparations for the meeting between the two countries’ presidents, which is being held by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs together with the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers.

"The Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents are expected to discuss the basic elements of resolving the conflict," Trend cited Warlick as saying.

He expressed hope that the upcoming meeting will give a new impetus to intensifying the dialogue. "The co-chairs will continue their efforts as long as the sides appreciate their role, but the final decision should be made by the presidents," he stressed.
