What parties and politicians most trusted in Georgia?

An International Republican Institute (IRI) poll reads that with the 2020 parliamentary elections less than a year away, a clear front-runner has yet to emerge.

If the parliamentary elections are held this Sunday, the Georgian Dream party was supported by 23% of respondents, 15% preferred the United National Movement, while 5% are ready to vote for the European Georgia - Free Democrats opposition party. The Labor party also has 5% of supporters, and the Alliance of Patriots - 4%.

The leader of the European Georgia opposition party David Bakradze (57%), Tbilisi Mayor Kakhi Kaladze (49%) and former parliament Speaker, now the leader of the Movement of Building David Usupashvili (47%) are the most liked politicians in the polls, while President Salome Zurabishvili (70%), the leader of the Girchi Party Zurab Japaridze (66%) and opposition leaders Irma Inashvili, Gigi Ugulava and Nino Burjanadze (59% each) are the least liked.

57% of respondents expressed dislike for the founder and head of the ruling Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili, while 32% liked him.

The data was collected between September 11 and October 14, 2019. The sample consisted of 1,500 permanent residents of Georgia aged 18 or older. The margin of error for this survey does not exceed +/- 2.5%.
