Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov met with the newly elected president of Latvia, Raimonds Vejonis, in Riga.
The two sides discussed issues of regional security, prospects of development of the armed forces and the expansion of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia, as well as other issues of mutual interest, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
Raimonds Vejonis, in his turn, emphasized that Latvia has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and has been a supporter of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
