The opening of the Zira Juma Mosque complex was attended by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, who always pays special attention to national and spiritual values, as well as vice-president of the Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva.
The story of construction of both old and modern type of the Zira Juma Mosque complex is also interesting. The idea to build this religious temple belongs to the family of Aydin Gurbanov, famous for his charitable activities. He was one of the founders of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress.
Aydin Gurbanov supported orphanages, helped disabled and also supported the fields of education and medicine for charitable purposes.
