Today, the head of the Academy named after Heydar Aliyev of the Ministry of National Security (MNS), Lieutenant General Ziya Yusif-zade, has died at the age of 85.
Almost all the heads of security agencies of Azerbaijan, including the Minister of National Security, Eldar Mahmudov, Minister of Internal Affairs, Ramil Usubov, Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov, Minister of Justice Fikret Mammadov, the head of the law enforcement section of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Fuad Aleskerov, as well as representatives of public and government agencies participated in the farewell ceremony.
Ziya Yusifzade was born in 1929 in Sheki. He graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages in 1952. He was awarded more than 40 orders and medals, including the Flag of Azerbaijan (2003) and the Order of Glory (2009).
