Algeria's oil minister Youcef Yousfi called on OPEC to cut production and raise the price of oil.
"For us, OPEC has to intervene to correct the imbalance and cut production to bring up prices and defend the income of its member states," Interfax quotes Yousfi.
Exports of crude oil accounts for 60% of the budget of Algeria, the report says, so the country is currently suffering significant economic difficulties.
