Azerbaijan and Iraq signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the oil and gas industry. The ceremony took place during the meeting of Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev, the President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev and the Minister of Oil of Iraq Adil Abdul-Mahdi.
Speaking about relations between the two countries, Natig Aliyev noted that the two countries share common opinions on global issues. According to him, a memorandum of understanding will open new horizons for expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iraq.
Adil Abdul-Mahdi, in his turn, noted that Iraq held 2nd place among OPEC countries in amount of oil production. He also hailed novelties in Azerbaijan's oil industry, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.
